Noisy Streetss (a media and publishing startup) and Àjàrà Foods (a food producer specialising in sauces and spice mixes) are expanding. Although we operate in different spaces, we share the same office space and parent company. 

We are looking for three exceptional individuals to join our team on a Hybrid basis. We are searching for excellence, creativity, and a genuine desire to build something great.

1. Accounting Associate (Grade 4)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria (Hybrid) | Type: Full-time

We are looking for a hardworking, intelligent Associate Accountant with 2+ years of experience to join our small team. You will be instrumental in establishing robust financial practices from the ground up for both Noisy Streetss and Àjàrà Foods.

This is a role for a driven, solution-oriented professional. You will work directly with the Head of Operations and the CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Control: Manage day-to-day transactions, maintain records for both companies, and manage the Fixed Asset Register and staff expense claims.
• Expenditure Management: Track daily expenses with proper classification and documentation.
• Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, perform account reconciliations, and deliver timely reports.
• Treasury: Handle weekly bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasts, and bank administration.
• Operational Finance: Oversee inventory management, stock counts, and calculate COGS (Cost of Goods Sold).
• Payables & Receivables: Manage invoicing, royalty disbursements to writers/vendors, and settle payables.
• Budgeting: Lead the budget creation process and perform variance/profitability analysis.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to the Nigerian Tax Act, act as the QuickBooks administrator, and assist with audits.

What You Need:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven competence in QuickBooks (Essential) and strong MS Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of Nigerian tax law.
• Desirable: Progress towards professional certification (ICAN, ACCA).

2. Associate Editor (Grade 4)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria (Hybrid) | Type: Full-time

Noisy Streetss is gearing up for a massive year in publishing, and we need an experienced hand to help shape our stories. We are looking for an Associate Editor with a sharp eye for detail and a deep love for African literature. You will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and the Publishing Assistant.

The Role:

• Editing manuscripts with a specific focus on African fiction and literature.
• Collaborating on the editorial direction for books and digital content.
• Ensuring stylistic consistency and high-quality storytelling across all publications.

What You Need:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in editing (Books, Literary Magazines, or Journals preferred).
• A strong portfolio or track record of edited works.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a creative team.

3. Digital Marketing (Social Media)

Location: Hybrid (Office Hours: Mondays only) | Type: Full-time

We are looking for a digital marketer to manage the social media presence for both companies—handling up to 4 distinct accounts. This role is primarily remote, with one day in the office (or as needed) for strategy and syncs.

The Role:

• Social Media Management: End-to-end management of 4 accounts across various platforms.
• Content Creation: Possibility of creating engaging content (videos, reels, captions) that aligns with our brand stories.
• Engagement: fostering community and managing audience interactions.

What You Need:

• Proven experience in Social Media Marketing.
• Familiarity with scheduling tools and analytics.
• Content Creation
